ANGLES
& INTERSECTIONS
Lines in isolation are boring. It is only when they collide that geometry begins. From the simplicity of a Linear Pair to the complexity of Transversals.
of angular relationship.
The Transversal Engine
When a line cuts across two others, it creates 8 distinct angles. If the lines are Parallel, magic happens: the chaos organizes into perfect equality.

Vocabulary
Vertical Angles
Two non-adjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines. They share a vertex but no sides.
Linear Pair
Two adjacent angles formed by intersecting lines. They form a straight line.
Transversal
A line that intersects two or more coplanar lines at distinct points.
Alternate Interior
A pair of angles on opposite sides of the transversal and between the other two lines.
Core Theorems
Vertical Angles Thm
"Vertical angles are always congruent."
Linear Pair Postulate
"If two angles form a linear pair, then they are supplementary."
Alt. Interior Angles Thm
"If parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then alternate interior angles are congruent."
Why this matters?
Without these rules, construction is impossible. Architects rely on the Parallel Line Theorems to ensure buildings stand straight and walls meet at perfect corners.
